  1. Anyone else get a “The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be installed (0x2000)” error message? Once clicking “Ok” the window closes and a popup for Compatibility Error arrives and if I click “Install Compatibility Software” It will close followed by a Windows Defender prompt of a Severe security threat being removed;

    Trojan:Win32/Commandrob.A!ml is the threat Windows Defender removes and what the Trojan is attempting to do/affect is CmdLine: C:\Windows\System32\pcalua.exe -a E:\Install.EXE -d E:

    I have no idea if this is essential for to install, to by my error message, or is this an actual threat that I should now allow access too? My assumption is that it is an actual threat since no once is talking about it in the comments.

  2. After mounting to a disk driver, you can open via the AutoRun or Dbattles application files in DVD drive folder. Both files have the Knowledge Adventure Logo with the white stick figure on the stairs. If you hear the music for a split second when opening it then you have succeeded. Simply open task manager and repeatedly do the following ( Minimize Dinosaur Battles Application, Maximize, double click the game screen. Minimize, maximize, double click the game
    screen ) You should see and hear the intro slowly progressing until you get to the main menu. It should work fine from then on, you can save the game and close it to play again in the future.

  3. when the game freezes during the intro, open the task manager with ctrl + alt + delete. you should then be able to see the task manager and running processes, probably in a different resolution. wait for the dinosaur battles application to appear near the top. right click this and expand it, you’ll see a Knowledge Adventure icon and it’ll say Scan Command. right click this and select Minimize. after that, right click and press Maxmize. you’ll notice it’s moved forward a little bit, maybe only a tiny bit. you might also hear the music play for a split second. you’ll have to keep doing this until the menu appears, and then you might have to do it a few more times until you can actually type in a name. once you have your name and have gotten into the game, you shouldnt have any problems.

    this is the LONG way of doing it, there have been other methods posted below but i noticed this worked and i decided to share.

    ** i’ve gone through this process again while typing this comment, and it still works. you have to keep pressing ctrl + alt + delete, selecting task manager, right click and Expand the application, then Minimize and Maximize it. once you maximize the application enough times and you hear the games music start to play, try to click a couple of times as if you were clicking through an intro cutscene in a normal game. i think this should help then bring you to the main menu. once you are here, you will have to repeat the process once or twice, before and after making your name/selecting your name to sign back in. once i do this and get inside the actual game, i dont have any more problems. again, this is a very tedious process but it does work.**

  4. how do i skip the intro video. I cant seem to get ed it.

    News, I got the game to start up, and I used the DxWnd method, but after I added a player name the game does not allow me to go any further, its as if it freezes but I cant add a player and I cant press go or exit. Any ideas on how to fix?

  5. I got the game to play on my Windows 10 laptop without the use of DxWnd or otherwise. From what I can see, is the introduction video that’s the issue – I had to keep minimizing the game and going back into it to get through the video, but after that, the game played without issue. If there’s a way to remove the video, Windows 10 s should be able to jump right into the game
